Update: COVID-19 information for our patients 21-03-2020

The health and wellbeing of our patients and that of the wider community is our primary concern.  We are committed to reduce transmission, protect the NHS, and ultimately save lives.

We have already put in place all appropriate measures as detailed in "COVID-19 Guidance for infection prevention and control in healthcare settings infection”, and will continue to monitor and follow advice from the Government, Public Health England, and the General Osteopathic Council.

Our current measures:

1. We will continue to maintain a high level of infection control and prevention in the clinic:

  • Practitioners are wearing additional personal protective equipment including nitrile gloves for all patient contact, aprons and surgical masks.

  • All absorbent fabrics used in treatment including couch covers, fabric pillow cases, towels and treatment gowns have been removed from the clinic room. We have replaced all fabric pillow cases with vinyl pillow cases. We have replaced towels with disposable couch roll.

  • Treatment couches, vinyl pillow cases and other equipment are sanitised after each patient.

  • Public areas and frequently touched objects and surfaces (e.g reception desk, door handles etc) are cleaned and disinfected at the end of each session.

2. We will triage patients to ensure patients visit the clinic appropriately:

  • Symptom free/ mild routine appointments will be postponed until mid June. These patients will be offered online appointments.

  • Acute/ severe patients who are low risk will be prioritised and seen at the clinic.

  • Acute/ severe patients who are medium/ high risk will be referred to their GP in the short term and offered later appointments in June..

3. We will prevent gatherings in the waiting area:

  • Our Practice Manager, Jenny, will be working from home during this period. This is for her safety as well as that of our patients.

  • Our Osteopath, Rebecca, will be working alone in order to prevent gatherings of more than two people occurring at the clinic.

Our expectations of you:

1.  DO NOT attend your appointment, and stay at home for 7 days if you have symptoms:

  • A high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back

  • A new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly.

You will not be charged for cancelling for this reason.

2. Please observe social distancing in the waiting area:

  • If you are very early for your appointment, please wait for your appointment in your car.

  • Please remain at least 2 metres away from other people in the waiting area.

3. Please maintain good personal hygiene at the clinic:

  • Washing your hands on arrival at the clinic.

  • Use a tissue for coughs and avoid touching your face.
